I am sure that who is interested in HR has heard at least once (!?) this word: TALENT. For example we often speak about talent management, talent assessment, talent development which are fundamental topics in any HR agenda.
Said that the subject is very important, are we able to define what we really mean with the word “talent”? Everyone has an idea of what a talent could be, but it is hard to find a general definition of talent. Is it a capability? Is it a the attitude to work? Probably both.
In my opinion a “pure” talent does not exist but it does exist a talent in a peculiar context. I mean that a “talent” can have a positive impact in a specific work context but in another. Additionally, organizations can create their talents thanks to training, coaching a development plans.
